Abstract:
RT2X2 compounds (R: rare earth element, T: d-element and X: p-element), crystallizing in tetragonal structure, were intensively investigated in last years. Very interesting physical properties as pressure-induced superconductivity, valence fluctuating phenomena or strong electron-phonon (e-p) interaction were observed in these compounds. The e-p interaction resulting in additional peak in energy spectra of CePd2Al2 attracts exceptional attention [1]. Most of RT2X2 compounds poses stable structure, nevertheless, e.g. CePd2Al2 or CePd2Ga2 exhibit structural transition from tetragonal structure to lower symmetrical one [1, 2]. Moreover, the stability of tetragonal structure in CePd2Al2 seems to be influenced by presence of strong e-p interaction [1]. The investigation of structural phase transition in both CePd2Ga2 (polycrystalline sample)and CePd2Al2 (single crystal) by means of electric resistivity under hydrostatic pressure will be presented. The influence of hydrostatic and chemical [3] pressure on CePd2Al(2-x)Gax series will be discussed.
