Abstract:
Laboratories of Department of Condensed Matter Physics (DCMP) are equipped with several types of pressure cells dedicated for experiments under hydrostatic and uniaxial pressure. We can perform magnetic measurements up to 1 GPa and also other experiments like electric resistivity, AC - magnetic susceptibility, dilatometry and heat capacity under hydrostatic pressures up to 3 GPa. Electrical resistivity can be in addition measured above 3 GPa with quasihydrostatic pressure only by using Bridgman Anvil Cells (BAC). To increase range and quality of pressure measurements a new pressure cell was implemented into our labs. This BAC-type pressure cell reaches hydrostatic pressures up to 6 GPa while using Daphne oil as a pressure transmitting medium. Thanks to design of the sample space we might perform measurements of several physical properties. At the moment experiments of electric resistivity and magnetic susceptibility are being measured. The presentation is introducing this new pressure cell with unusual wires leading out from the sample space. Results of first testing measurements will be presented as well.
