Abstract:
New intensive sources of THz radiation based on free-electron lasers allow induction of unusual transient states in condensed matter due to anharmonic phonon coupling. My talk will give a short overview of recent papers showing influence of THz radiation on magnetization, induction of transient magnetization in non-magnetic materials or induction of transient superconductivity at room temperature. Parameters of new TeraFERMI beamline in Triest and FELBE+TELBE beamlines in Dresden will be also presented.
