Abstract:
The objective of the talk is to present motivation, aims and strategies of the TSuNAMI ERC Starting Grant with link to our previous research [1-8]. The ultimate goal of the project is to build prototypes of trans-spin nano-architectures, the TSuNAMIs composed of at least two divergent spin entities. The building blocks correspond to single atomic spins embedded in spin crossover complexes, single-molecule spins, single-domain superspins, and pseudospins in two-dimensional crystals. Within the proposed high-risk/high-gain trans-spin strategy, we aim to: 1. Establish an innovative approach of coupling the spin species in a desired configuration and 2. Explore synergy of different spin entities within a single TSuNAMI. The potential impact of the research will be demonstrated on selected cases, e.g. 1. Self-control of heating performance for cancer therapy, 2. Spin-lever effect under remote control, and 3. Novel functionalization strategies of the graphene successors. Finally, some personal observations on multifaceted aspects of the application, evaluation and obtaining the ERC project will be given.
