Abstract:
UTe2 is known as a heavy fermion superconductor characterized by an enhanced effective mass of conduction electrons. [1] Initially the origin of the superconductivity was discussed based on ferromagnetic fluctuation which is mainly inferred from residual electronic specific heat at T=0 and paramagnetic behavior arising at low temperatures. Experimentally, however, fairly large sample dependent behavior makes it difficult to extract intrinsic behavior. We report in this talk detailed crystal growth and characterization and discuss the origin of the sample dependence [2]. Finally recent observation of quantum oscillation is discussed [3].
