The purpose of the furnace is sample synthesis (intermetalics) from pure elemets in a water cooled copper finger or casting of the polycrystalline rods for floating zone method. Melting can be performed in dynamical vacuum or 1 bar pressure of Argon. The coil is located on a troly and can be moved in the range of 15 cm along the cold finger.

It is possible to produce button-shape or rod samples.
