
Typical applications
The Far-Infrared Magnetospectroscopy (FIRM) system is equipped with an optically pumped THz gas laser, a cryomagnetic cryostat, and a bolometer. This unique experimental setup enables the measurement of optical properties of materials in the far-infrared region at temperatures as low as 3 K and magnetic fields up to 11 tesla.
Available methods
The Spectromag SM4000 cryomagnetic system enables precise monitoring of how a sample’s optical transmission properties depend on temperature and magnetic field for any given laser line. Simultaneously, the system facilitates measurement of electrical resistance through a four-point probe setup, with contacts positioned at the corners of the sample.

Sample environment
Sample environment controls include magnetic field up to 11 T and temperatures down to 3 K.
